New roastery creating jobs and supporting the local community in Tver

The construction of Paulig’s roastery in the Russian city of Tver was good news for the local business community and residents. The arrival of a prestigious foreign employer is seen as a highly positive thing.

At present, the roastery has about 60 employees. Paulig also provides summer and temporary jobs for students. This gives them work experience with an international company.

The launch of manufacturing in a new country gives the company a new kind of status in the local community. International companies’ own procedures may exceed the requirements of local laws and regulations. For example, the waste-handling processes of the Tver roastery are considerably more stringent than legal requirements.

Paulig also takes part in supporting the local community in Tver. “We have chosen children and poor families as our main target for aid. We donate clothing, furniture and other equipment to orphanages for disabled children. We also purchase clothing and food for local charities for donation to poor families with many children and we have taken part in setting up charity shop collection and distribution centres,” says Director Anatoly Panchev of the Tver plant.
