Paulig taking part in a food industry energy efficiency programme

In 2011, Paulig’s Coffee Division joined the Finnish Food and Drink Industries’ Federation energy efficiency programme.

Paulig mukaan elintarvikealan energiatehokkuusohjelmaan

The companies taking part in the programme pledge to reduce their energy consumption by no less than nine per cent relative to the actual consumption of a comparison year (consumption of electricity, heating and fuel). For Paulig the comparison year is 2008 and the target is to be attained by the end of 2016. Thanks to the modernisation of the roasting process, Paulig has already overachieved its targets set for natural gas. The saving on the comparison year is 24% per tonne of production.

The companies taking part in the programme report annually on the action taken and the energy savings achieved.

In accordance with the agreement, Paulig arranges training for its personnel on energy efficiency, make energy efficiency guidelines part of its procurement procedures, and utilises energy-efficient technology whenever possible.
