ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES ARE CLOSELY MONITORED

We aim to further the well-being of the environment both directly and indirectly, throughout the coffee chain. We can affect environmental issues directly in our own operations, such as logistics, production and packaging.    

In the countries of origin, we can exert an influence by communicating with our partners, participating in projects promoting the use of environmentally friendly growing and processing methods and by sourcing raw materials that have been produced in an environmentally friendly way.

The Paulig roasteries in the Vuosaari neighbourhood in Helsinki, and Tver, Russia, are modern and energy efficient, and are located in logistical hubs.

The Paulig roasteries in the Vuosaari neighbourhood in Helsinki, and Tver, Russia, are modern and energy efficient, and are located in logistical hubs. We focus our attention on energy consumption, reducing waste and supporting recycling. Under normal conditions, during the production process, the Vuosaari roastery no longer produces mixed waste at all. We are aiming to increase the recyclability of packaging materials and increased material effectiveness.

In the management of environmental issues, our starting point is the international ISO 14001 environmental standard. We aim to increase employee awareness of ecological consumption, and to further improve environmental issues in our daily work. To help promote environmentally friendly office work we have joined the WWF’s Green Office activities.
